I've always TRIED to STOP SINNING to BE SAVED. Yes, we are to repent, to forsake sin, but our salvation ONLY comes from what JESUS did on the cross and we receive that salvation through FAITH. THEN He empowers us to turn from sin, granting us the power to endure temptation and turn to HIM. We in our own strength cannot overcome sin, it's only through HIS strength that we can.. if that weren't true, we would have NEVER NEEDED A SAVIOR. But alas we do. Trust in Him alone and the rest will flow. #s
